While meditating on a special rock by the shores of Lake Tahoe, a bear suddenly appeared, staring directly at him before moving on. This magical encounter was a sign for Tom, as a bear crossing is often seen as a symbol of good luck and strength, guiding those at a crossroads.
Inspired by this chance meeting, Tom decided to start his own shoe company, naming it BEARPAW as a tribute to the great animal. The very first BEARPAW boot style, called EVA, was soon created.
